Jungmun Resort is where many Jeju trips end up for a night or two, with big hotels, Jungmun Saekdal Beach and the Jusangjeolli lava cliffs all close together. The resort strip itself has plenty of hotel dining, but some of the more interesting meals are a short drive away, west toward Sanbangsan and Moseulpo. This guide covers 12 places we ate at around Jungmun, Andeok and Daejeong, from black pork and haenyeo seafood to an Irish-style kitchen, a lunch course with a mountain view and a market tteok shop.
The picks below are adapted from visits by Revitguide reviewer 호미식 (Homisik), who rated each 3.5 out of 5. Each section links to the original Korean review.
Getting to Jungmun Resort and Around the South-West
Jungmun Tourist Complex (중문관광단지) sits on the south coast in Seogwipo. From Jeju Airport, airport limousine 600 runs to the Jungmun hotels; Jeju Province lists the trip at about 52 minutes and ₩4,500. Since August 2024 the line has been split into two routes (600 and 601), so check which one stops at your hotel. By car it takes roughly 45 to 55 minutes.
Jungmun Saekdal Beach, Jusangjeolli and Cheonjeyeon Falls are all in the resort area. Head about 20 minutes west and you reach Andeok, home to Sanbangsan mountain, the Yongmeori coast and the Osulloc Tea Museum (see our Osulloc Tea Museum guide). Keep going and you reach Daejeong, where Moseulpo port is known for its winter yellowtail (bangeo). Most places below are much easier to reach with a car.

Where to Eat in Jungmun Resort and Saekdal
Orumak Garden (오르막가든)
After eating black pork many times in Jeju, I find the quality of the meat is what I notice first, and Orumak was pretty satisfying on that front. We ordered black pork ogyeopsal (belly with skin) and fresh white pork galbi. The black pork was juicy and tender, with that rich black pork flavor coming through as you chew. The white pork galbi was cleaner and lighter, so going back and forth between the two worked well.
This is not a place where staff grill everything for you from start to finish. They showed us how to grill it ourselves and helped when they were not busy, and the owners were friendly throughout. It is memorable for the meat rather than any show. Of the places I have eaten black pork in Jungmun, this is one I would put near the front of the list. For more black pork, see our Jeju black pork guide.

Ideure Guksu (이드레국수)
I went because I had heard it was on the Blue Ribbon list, and even fairly early in the morning several tables were already eating. I ordered bibim guksu and dombe-gogi. The first taste was much milder than I expected; the sauce stayed calm rather than sharp, sour or spicy, and I had hoped for something bolder. The toppings did not stand out much either.
The noodles, on the other hand, were good: cooked just right with a lively texture, and the sauce coated them evenly. In the end the noodles were what I remembered most. The dombe-gogi was solid. Overall it fell a little short of my expectations, but the texture of the noodles stayed with me. For Jeju’s pork noodle soup, see our gogi guksu guide.

Jungmun Haenyeo House (중문해녀의집)
We ordered mixed raw seafood and abalone porridge. The sea is right in front of you, and two haenyeo (Jeju’s women free divers) run the place themselves, so the meal already feels special before the food arrives. The raw seafood was above all fresh, relying on the ingredients rather than aging or sauces.
The abalone porridge was quite lightly seasoned. It may seem a bit plain at first, but the abalone was tender and its fresh flavor came through as you chewed. The haenyeo were kind, and eating with the sea in front of me felt like eating seafood that had just come out of the water. It is a direct way to experience Jeju’s sea rather than elaborate cooking. More seafood spots are in our Jeju seafood guide.

Andeok and Sanbangsan, West of Jungmun Resort
Andeok-myeon is about 20 minutes west of Jungmun Resort and works well for lunch or dinner around a visit to Sanbangsan, the Yongmeori coast or Sagye Beach.
Dancing Fork (댄싱포크)
Dancing Fork in Sagye-ri focuses on British and Irish food, so it has dishes you rarely see in Jeju, and the room is decorated like a cozy country house in Europe. We ordered seafood chowder, Guinness beef pie and olive oil pasta. I had the highest hopes for the Guinness beef pie, but what I remembered most was the chowder.
It was very smooth and creamy, with seafood flavor melted into the cream, rich without feeling greasy. Dipping the bread into it was the best part; by the end I was scraping the bowl. The pie suited the space and the pasta made it a varied meal, but that day the soup beat the mains. If I go back, I will order the chowder first.

Perlo (페를로)
The building was beautiful, and the relaxed Jeju scenery around it raised my expectations before I even walked in. We ordered octopus and bomal pasta, sea urchin and bottarga pasta, and a margherita. Using Jeju ingredients like octopus, top shell and sea urchin was an interesting idea that clearly says “pasta in Jeju.”
Maybe my expectations were too high. The octopus pasta aimed for a sea flavor but did not grab me, and the sea urchin pasta felt more ordinary than its ingredients promised. The margherita was the easiest to enjoy, familiar and steady. Nothing was bad, but after such a lovely first impression I wanted one dish with a real punch.

Bistro Nang (비스트로낭)
I wanted Western food near the Yongmeori coast and found Bistro Nang. It has many Italian dishes that use Jeju ingredients and works well for a stop during a trip. If you want a nice meal with some atmosphere near Yongmeori or Sanbangsan, you will likely be satisfied. Next time I want to try another pasta.

Uncle Little Kitchen (엉클리틀키친)
The name says “little,” but the place is not little at all: a big building, high ceilings and wide windows with the countryside and Sanbangsan beyond. We had the lunch course. The first plate set the tone, with small bites of cold tomato soup, zucchini, mackerel, Jeju squash, chickpeas and potato, dried pollock and grilled eggplant pesto, each with a different taste and texture.
The pasta centered on zucchini and was clean rather than heavily seasoned. The bread was crisp outside and soft inside, and even better with the pasta sauce. My favorite was the main: black pork rolled with herbs and roasted, with very crisp skin and a juicy inside, plus potatoes and peppers to cut the richness. Dessert of Gujwa carrot cake and Okinawa pudding with brown sugar sauce closed it well. The window view made the meal feel special, and I want to come back for dinner.

Suncheon Mihyang (순천미향)
I came here for a filling Korean meal near Sanbangsan. The restaurant is large, with many families and groups, and it does feel like a tourist-area restaurant, but the food was better than I expected. I ordered boneless silver galchi jorim (braised hairtail). I am not a big galchi jorim fan, yet the sauce was not overly strong and had good savory depth, and the boneless fish was easy to eat. The side dishes were neatly seasoned too. Next time I want to try their Jeju samhap. For more on hairtail, see our galchi guide.

Mambok Black Pork, Sanbangsan Branch (만복흑돼지 제주산방산점)
It was already busy when we arrived, which raised my expectations. We had pork neck and ogyeopsal. Both were good, with the springy texture and nutty flavor of black pork, but the taste itself felt more ordinary than the crowd suggested. I would not drive a long way just for it.
What impressed me was the service. The young staff who grilled for us were friendly and skilled, and kept checking on us even when it was busy; the owner was kind too. If you are staying near Sanbangsan or Moseulpo, it is an easy, comfortable choice.

Hallasan Arae Cheotmaeul (한라산아래첫마을)
I stay near here often, so I came back again. Sometimes a place feels different the second time, but this was still clean and tasty. The soups are good too, but I always lean toward the buckwheat dishes. They are mild and light, easy on the stomach, the kind of food you can come back to anytime rather than one with a dramatic flavor. It is handy to know a place like this when you are staying nearby.

Daejeong and Moseulpo
Wato Coffee (와토커피)
Wato is a well-known roastery cafe in Moseulpo. I ordered the Flat Oreum, one of the signature drinks: matcha and coffee with matcha ice cream on top. I was not sure the two would work together, but they did; the bitter, nutty matcha came first, then the coffee aroma, without one covering the other. As the ice cream melted into the coffee it became sweeter and softer, so the drink kept changing. If you like both coffee and matcha, it is hard to go wrong. More cafes are in our Jeju coffee guide.

Pungnyeon Tteokjip (풍년떡집)
I thought Moseulpo was only about yellowtail, but locals told me Pungnyeon Tteokjip is a must too. The first thing I saw in the market was the black sesame mugwort steamed bun, with steam pouring out and most customers leaving with one. The bun had soft mugwort dough and a nutty black sesame filling that was not just sweet. I liked the ssuk seolgi (mugwort rice cake) even more: strong mugwort aroma and a moist, springy texture. Prices were easy, and it is nice to take a few back to your room.
