Fritz Coffee (프릳츠) is one of the best-known specialty coffee names in Korea, and its only Jeju branch sits right in front of Seongsan Ilchulbong, the volcanic “Sunrise Peak” on the island’s east coast. If you are touring eastern Jeju, this is an easy and rewarding coffee stop. Below you will find my visit, the menu prices, hours and parking, plus a few tips for getting a window seat.

What Is Fritz Coffee?
Fritz Coffee Company opened in May 2014 in Dohwa-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, inside a converted hanok. A group of coffee and bread professionals founded it together. The team included a roaster, a green coffee buyer, a baker and barista Park Geun-ha, who won the Korean Barista Championship in 2014. So from the start, Fritz was a roaster and a bakery as much as a café.
You will probably notice the logo first. It shows a seal holding a cup of coffee, next to Korean lettering with a retro feel. Co-founder Kim Byung-ki has said the team wanted a name and logo with no obvious link to coffee, simply so people would remember them. In fact, even the Korean spelling is unusual on purpose: the brand writes 프릳츠 instead of the standard 프릿츠.
Today Fritz roasts its beans in Paju, near Seoul. Its official store list names Dohwa, Wonseo, Yangjae, Dongnimmun and Jangchung in Seoul, plus an in-house café at HYBE. Seongsan opened in 2023 as the first branch outside Seoul.
The Building: An Old Seongsan Restaurant, Reborn
The Seongsan branch did not start as a café. According to the design studio behind the project and a 2023 heyPOP feature, the building was Baengnok Hoegwan (백록회관), a raw fish restaurant that ran for more than 20 years and also served as a gathering place for locals. Fritz kept its blue roof and red brick look and turned it into a bakery café with seating around the coffee bar. The Visit Jeju tourism site also lists outdoor seating and a rooftop with views of the peak and the sea.
My Visit to Fritz Coffee in Seongsan
If you are traveling around eastern Jeju and end up near Seongsan Ilchulbong, Fritz Coffee Jeju Seongsan is a café worth trying at least once. You can see Seongsan Ilchulbong and the sea together from here, so it makes a good stop on an east coast route.
The parking lot was bigger than I expected. However, there were so many people that I ended up parking somewhere else.
As you walk in, a huge window runs along the left side, so the room feels open rather than cramped. Seongsan Ilchulbong fills the view outside. On a clear day, the scenery alone is enough to make the trip worth it.

That said, it is such a famous café that it always seems busy. If you go, I recommend grabbing a seat first and then ordering.
Choosing your beans
At Fritz Coffee Jeju Seongsan you can also pick your beans. On my visit the options were “Saneun Nak” (사는 낙), “Jal Doeeo Gasina” (잘 되어 가시나) and a decaf. The board recommended Saneun Nak for café lattes and Jal Doeeo Gasina for americanos.
I ordered an americano and followed the recommendation, so I chose Jal Doeeo Gasina. The name sounds playful and very Jeju, which made it fun.
Note: my visit was in June 2025. Some 2026 visitors report the recommendation the other way around, with Saneun Nak for the americano. So read the board on the day before you order.
Goods, gifts and bread
While I waited for my coffee, browsing the shop was fun too. There was a wide range of Fritz goods and coffee products, such as drip bags, capsules and gift sets. As a result, it looked like a good place to buy souvenirs from a Jeju trip.
They also sell bread, so it works well for a simple snack with your coffee.
Above all, though, the biggest draw here is the view. You get to drink a cup of coffee while you look out at Seongsan Ilchulbong. For me, it was the easiest way to feel that I had really arrived on Jeju’s east side.
Fritz Coffee Jeju Menu and Prices
These prices come from visitor blogs and menu photos from October 2026. Prices change, so treat them as a guide.
| Item | Price |

The bakery case changes through the morning. One 2026 visitor blog says bread comes out in batches from 8 a.m. until about noon, with croissants arriving around midday. So if you want a specific pastry, arrive in the late morning.
Tips for Visiting
- Go early. The café opens at 8 a.m., before many tourist cafés. Morning is also a good time to pair it with a climb up Seongsan Ilchulbong.
- Save a seat first. Window seats go quickly, so put your bag down before you queue.
- Plan for parking. The free lot is small for the crowds. If it is full, look for parking nearby.
- Leave room in your bag. Drip bags, capsules and beans make easy gifts, and you can also buy Fritz beans to brew at home.
- Check the weather. The view is the main event, so a clear day makes a big difference.
Verdict
Fritz Coffee Jeju Seongsan is a reliable coffee stop with one of the best views on the island. It gets crowded, and parking can be a hassle. Still, a coffee in front of Seongsan Ilchulbong was the easiest way for me to feel the mood of eastern Jeju. I paid about ₩9,000 on my visit. My rating: 4 out of 5.
