Korean Fine Dining in Seoul: Doori Michelin Review

Korean fine dining at Doori in Seoul: a Michelin-listed tasting menu by a Yongsan chef couple, with photos, price and booking tips.

Korean fine dining meat course with lotus root at Doori

Korean fine dining does not always mean a grand dining room in Gangnam. Doori (두리) is a small counter restaurant near Hyochang Park Station in Yongsan, run by a young husband-and-wife team, and it was named a MICHELIN Selected restaurant in the MICHELIN Guide Seoul 2026. This review covers my dinner in April 2026 with photos of the whole course, plus the current price, how to book and how to get there.

This review is adapted from a visit by Revitguide reviewer 호미식 (Homisik), who rated it 4.5 out of 5. Read the original Korean review on Revitguide. (Japanese: 韓国料理 ソウル / 韓国 ファインダイニング)

Who Runs Doori? A Korean Fine Dining Story From Yongsan

According to the MICHELIN Guide, both the chef and his wife were born and raised in Yongsan. In fact, the name Doori comes from their dog, and it also stands for the couple behind it: two people, and two cuisines, Korean and Western. In a 2026 interview with MINGCHU, the couple explained that Doori began as a weekend wine pop-up after they married in 2020. Later, CJ CheilJedang’s Korean chef incubation program, Cuisine.K, helped them turn home-style course cooking into a full restaurant kitchen.

The MICHELIN Guide also points to Doori’s zero-waste approach. For example, the menu changes with the seasons, and the kitchen tries to use every ingredient. Moreover, its best-known dish, “All of Today’s Scraps,” is made from the day’s leftover trimmings.

My Korean Fine Dining Dinner at Doori (April 2026)

Korean fine dining in a space full of the name Doori

First of all, Doori is a space filled with its own name. It is a meeting of two genres, Western and Korean. It is a place run together by two people, a married couple. And then there is the dog they raise, also named Doori.

Then, before the meal, the couple tells their story with bright smiles and soft voices. Whatever kind of day you had before you arrived, that moment guarantees a pleasant start to the meal.

Korean fine dining care you can taste in every course

Of course, they must meet new people and cook the same dishes every day. Even so, they present each one with careful words and energy, as if it were the very first time. In addition, you can taste that care in the food itself: the effort and time they put in, and the confidence that must have grown out of it.

A Korean fine dining finale: a handwritten postcard

At the end, the couple hands you a postcard they wrote by hand, together with a Polaroid photo. As a result, it feels like the closing scene of a movie.

Why This Korean Fine Dining Meal Felt Like a Movie

To be honest, I cannot remember the exact flavors. Instead, all I remember is that everything was delicious. In other words, it was a meal where I never stopped to judge anything.

It may not be a perfect space, and it may not be in the easiest place to find. However, Doori has a way of making even those things feel lovable. Above all, it made me wonder how much more brilliant and wonderful these two people will become.

Doori Korean Fine Dining Price and Booking Tips (2026)

  • Course: The seasonal tasting course costs ₩160,000 per person, and the price is the same at lunch and dinner.
  • Pairings: A 6-glass wine and Korean alcohol pairing costs ₩150,000. A 4-glass half pairing and a 5-glass non-alcoholic pairing cost ₩100,000 each.
  • Booking: Reserve through CatchTable. Doori also shared a seasonal price notice there, so confirm the current price when you book.
  • Getting there: Take Line 6 or the Gyeongui-Jungang Line to Hyochang Park Station and leave by Exit 5. The restaurant is about a minute away.

Is Doori Worth It?

For a Korean fine dining dinner that feels personal rather than formal, Doori is easy to recommend. In addition, at ₩160,000 it costs less than the starred tasting menus we have covered, such as Gaggen. My rating: 4.5 out of 5.
